The UAMS Addiction Research Training Program is accepting applications for postdoctoral training in the application of human functional and structural brain imaging in addiction problem solving. Centered on 3T MRI, training positions span five training faculty across the Brain Imaging Research Center and the Center for Addiction Research in the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute.
Training opportunities are available in:
- Computational neuroscience of functional brain network
- Cognitive neuroscience related to the addiction process
- Neurodevelopmental trajectories of addiction risk and resilience
- Child and adolescent neuroimaging
- Exploring the developmental brain-behavior-environment associations within the ABCD dataset
These training opportunities exist within the outstanding addiction research career development opportunities offered by the UAMS Addiction Research Training Program.
Currently in its fifteenth year of support by an Institutional Research Training Grant (T32) from the National Institute on Drug Abuse and with hallmark properties of innovation, diversity, connectivity and outcomes, the multi-level training program offers mentored individualized training paths within the context of strong professional development opportunities and cross-disciplinary training that spans a T1-T4 range of translational science.
Supported by a network of 19 training faculty, we offer innovative and effective training in research ethics, grant writing, and mentorship, facilitated by our addiction course (Drug Addiction: Science, Society, and Human Health) and five-image connectivity presentation series. The training program seeks to integrate addiction research and medicine to provide trainees with broadened training in translational science benefits to human health and society.
